Character Info

Name: Franklin "FDR" Foster
Fandom: This Means War
Age: 30
Personality: FDR comes across as the smooth-talking, pretty-looking, playboy whose main priority is himself. And for the most part, he does a good job of keeping up this image. Looks are important to him. Even on missions he prides himself in wearing the finest suits made on Saville Row. So fancy, in fact, that Heinrich is able to find him and identify him because of his super one of a kind specially made suit. Even his home is decorated to personify this aspect of his personality. Underground, sleek, modern, with a nice view of the swimming pool for a roof (and the women that go swimming in it). And he claims there are two things he knows well, movies and women. For his cover story, he claims to be a cruise ship captain. Which reflects the kind of person he’s presented to be. A cruise ship which is a fun temporary ride and constantly moving on.
But as conceited as he comes across (and generally is), he cares a great deal about his grandparents and his partner Tuck. He's definitely a grandma's boy, and even quotes her when talking to people. He's kind of a mother hen to his friend. He always carries extra clips with him because he knows Tuck always runs out of bullets and never has an extra one with him. He keeps an eye on his partner even during a shoot-out. He takes the lead during missions because its the more dangerous position. And when Tuck decides to meet up with a woman from an online dating site, FDR insists on tagging along covertly so he can swoop in and save Tuck if she turns out to be crazy. After losing his parents, anyone that he can actually get close to him becomes someone he cares about and someone he insists on protecting.
He also has a horrible competitive streak. He's cocky and arrogant, but he is generally capable of backing it up. It's that attitude that fuels their competition to get the girl, claiming he'd back off because it wouldn't be "fair" anyway. Things go from awkward to worse after that. And there seem to be no rules when he and Tuck get into a competition. Wiretapping, using his operatives to keep surveillance on Lauren, using CIA spyplanes to peek in on dates, it's hard to find a line he won't cross in order to win. He even adopts the saddest most pathetic dog in the shelter just to prove he can care about something other than himself.
Despite the misuse of CIA equipment, when he doesn't have downtime (which has been proven to be a very very bad thing to have), he takes his job extremely serious. He's good at noticing small details. A quick glance at a surveillance tape of Tuck and Lauren and he's able to spot Heinrich tailing them in the background. He's also well trained in hand to hand combat and marksmanship. Other CIA agents call him an assassin who always gets his mark, although they jokingly say this about his dating too.
Background: WIKI
FDR was a bit of a goofy kid, complete with unibrow and braces and wearing dresses as capes. He wanted to be superman and wore his superman outfit constantly, until he tried to fly by jumping off the roof of the house. When he was nine, his parents died during a date night in a car crash and he started keeping people at a distance. At some point, he lost the unibrow and braces, traded the superman suit in for a fancy suit and became a self-proclaimed ladies' man.
Sometime during college he got recruited into the CIA and was eventually partnered with Tuck who became an honorary member of his family and best (and really only) friend.
On a covert mission in Hong Kong to apprehend the Heinrich brothers and retrieve a weapon of mass destruction they were trying to purchase, the two make a bit of a mess. Six dead bodies, and a younger Heinrich brother accidentally thrown off the side of a building onto moving traffic kind of mess. Their boss isn't happy with the results and grounds the two of them knowing that the older Heinrich brother will seek revenge.
Grounded with nothing to do, they can only drum on their desks and spin guns for so long, and Tuck decides he needs to start online dating. And FDR decides he needs to watch out for his out-of-practice best friend. This is where Lauren comes into the picture, gaining attention of both CIA agents. And then the competition filled with privacy invasion, stalking, misuse of CIA intelligence agents and equipment, and pure immaturity begins.
